Emma Drake

I’m a York lass through and through, I have lived and worked in this beautiful city all of my life.

I have recently completed a degree in Counselling, Coaching and Mentoring, which is how I first became involved with The Hut in 2013, firstly as a volunteer and now as a Trustee. I am passionate about this amazing organisation, the support it provides and purpose it gives to vulnerable members of York’s community. The members, staff and volunteers inspire me every day.

My working background is financial and insurance services. I opted to take voluntary redundancy in order to change my life and satisfy a long held ambition of becoming a counsellor. I am about to embark on a post-graduate diploma in counselling, followed by a Masters.
