Music, Art, and Lots of Fun!

Thursday Morning Music
We were lucky to have University of York students join us again on Thursday morning this week. We heard great music hits played in different ways, many at the request of our members. A harp, cello and flute joined us. We learned how to make music without instruments creating the atmosphere of the seaside before recreating ‘the cup song’ as our grand finale. Great fun was had by all involved.

Friday Express Art
We believe that art is all about the journey, not the destination, and that’s what we did this Friday. Using paints, brushes, sponges and even our hands, we expressed how we felt with great fun and energy. It was a fantastic way to get our thoughts out of our head and onto a sheet of paper. Anyone can create a piece of art, you don’t have to be the best artist in the world, we just love having fun with it.

The Hut visits the University of York
We were invited by the University of York Mental Health Awareness Project to go and speak to students about art and mental health this afternoon. Emma did a great talk and shared some of our member’s artwork. The students were really interested and hopefully we will see some of them at The Hut in the near future!
