David Geddes

David is a local GP and has had a special interest in mental health having worked earlier in his career in adult psychiatric services.

He now works part time, combining his job as a GP with working with NHS England as the national head of primary care commissioning.

Mental illness is common and for those who suffer,  there are challenges that face them on a daily basis. Through his work as a GP and also as a carer for a family member with mental illness, David  has been touched by stories of success and bravery which has given inspiration to others.

Learning and getting  support from others who have lived experience of mental illness is key to helping others face difficulties in their life, that is why David is so proud to be associated with the Hut, bringing together people with experiences, to share and learn together, helping others cope with life’s challenges in a warm friendly and positive environment.
